The Service Writer is on the front line and acts as an interpreter between the customers and the workshop. He listens to concerns and asks questions that will help him to get clues as to the cause of certain symptoms. He guides customers through the most appropriate solutions and confirms that everything is in place so that the work to be done can then be carried out smoothly by the workshop technicians. In fact, he is a methodical investigator-doctor-psychologist-interpreter-strategist who is also well versed in bicycle mechanics.
Some mechanical experience will be essential. You will have to adapt and quickly learn the ins and outs of a well-orchestrated system. Don't worry, you'll be supported by a team as you learn to work it out before you will eventually have to fly on your own.
